SHAPING MALAYSIA’S URBAN FUTURE – RESILIENT, SUSTAINABLE, AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES
This seminar will explore the transformation of urban spaces in Malaysia, focusing on building resilient and sustainable cities.
It will highlight Urbanice Malaysia’s City Climate Action Plan, aimed at creating climate-adaptive and disaster-resistant urban environments.
The seminar will also cover gender-responsive and inclusive development strategies to ensure all communities benefit from growth.
Additionally, the East Coast Rail Link Integrated Land Use Master Plan (PeGTaECRL) will be discussed as a key driver for economic growth, with proposals for industrial hubs and transit-oriented developments to attract investment.

ECRL: TOD DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN MALAYSIA

NATURAL DISASTER EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED: BUKIT KIARA FEDERAL PARK, KUALA LUMPUR
The presentation “Expect the Unexpected” focuses on strengthening resilience in Bukit Kiara Federal Park, Kuala Lumpur. Facing challenges like unstable slopes and aging rubber plantations, the park is implementing solutions such as reforestation and public awareness initiatives. A development plan from 2011 to 2035 aims to enhance the park’s infrastructure for recreation, research, and tourism. Through strategic partnerships, Bukit Kiara is evolving into a resilient and sustainable urban green space.
